An essay about the distinguished architect Josip Plecnik (1872
- 1957), one of the founders of modern architecture, exploring his
individual style and intercutting between his extraordinary work
in Prague, particularly Prague Castle, and in his native Slovenia.
The camera seeks to interpret the architecture and reveal how Plecnik
was as sensitive to detail as to the overall plan, using proportion
and an elegant simplicity to link a wealth of different forms and
create a harmonious whole. It also looks at Plecnik himself and
his relationship with President Masaryk and his daughter.
